Here are pictures of our cats Cocoa, Sheba, and Jorge.
Jorge is the latest cat. He joined our family in November 2001.
He was 4
months old then. We found him at the Dublin pound.
Our most recent addition is Einstein. Click the link for his page.
8/15/2005 - Jorge was involved in an accident last night. At 8:20 PM
he was run over by a car. Jennifer witnessed him literally being run over. He
took off like a bolt of lightening. We did not see Jorge at all the rest of the
evening. We tried looking for him as best we could in the dim light of the
evening. The next day we left the window open that he usually comes through. But
he did not show up. I (David) left work a little early to try and track him
down. I was checking around a pond near our home when I heard his distinct
kitten like meowing (he's 4 yrs old, and big, but his meows sound like a kitten)
ringing out from the bushes as I walked by. As I came closer he slowly fumbled
his way out.
There are no signs of injury, no blood, except for a small scab on his leg. His
ribs, leg bones, etc all feel normal. He's breathing normally, and he does not
react as if in pain to me checking him over. But he is moving very slowly, seems
very weak, and favoring his back legs. His gums show good color. I read pale
gums on felines signal possible internal bleeding. And he ate an entire can of
cat food.
Now Jorge is sleeping on a comfortable blanket with a full belly. I think at
this point, worse case scenario is maybe some fractured bones. Plus the shock
must have him exhausted. As you can see in this picture, he's very sleepy. But
he seems to be doing well. We're extremely happy to have him back. He's a
wonderful cat, and we sure would have missed him.
